The original building was constructed in 1910 with subsequent additions in 1960, 1964, 1972. In 2004 J. A. Matthew Architect Ltd. was retained to provide full architectural services for the demolition of all sections of the school excluding the 1960 addition, and replacement of 1,795m² of new construction. The 1960 addition was completely modernized and integrated into the new construction to create a visually seamless structure. The finished product was the appearance of a totally brand new school. The project was completed within budget at a cost of $3,300,000.00.
